The Essex Shed Network will be representing themselves at the European Woodworking event on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September, held at Cressing Temple Barns.
There will be Shedders from all over Essex on the stand throughout the weekend. They will be handing out leaflets on what the Shed project is all about, including what you can do if you join one of these community projects. You will also have the chance to sign up to our mailing list which enables us to keep you up to date on upcoming news and information.
The Essex Shed Network will be there to raise awareness to the general public about how they can get involved in the projects across Essex.

Work to set up a Men’s Shed project on the historical Cressing Temple Barns Site has been taking place over the past few months and the project team are now looking for Men to step forward to be part of the Committee.
Volunteers are needed to help to set up the Shed project and oversee it’s ongoing management. The Committee will be responsible for choosing the Sheds formal structure, setting up a bank account and ensuring health and safety policies are in place.
Supported by the Essex Shed Network the Committee will take this fledgling project and help to grow it into a thriving community project supporting older men in the Cressing and Witham areas.
Find out more and apply for this opportunity on the Volunteer Essex Website
An inaugural meeting of the Committee will be held at the barns on the 29th August.
As recently reported by the BBC, the World’s Fastest Shed will be aiming to raise £10,000 for Katharine House Hospice. For more information please read http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-oxfordshire-40945974
The Essex Shed Network is looking forward to attending the European Woodworking Event at Cressing Temple Barns in September.
This is a great opportunity for us to talk to potential Shedders from across the County and wider. We will have a stand promoting the network and the individual Essex sheds both established and in development.
The European show is a leading woodworking show in the world with display and demonstrations from a range of craftsman including wood turners, carvers, pryrographers and toy makers.
We are looking for volunteers from Essex Shedders to help man the stand and talk to the public about Men in Shed projects and help promote. Cover is needed across the 2 days of the show but volunteers can choose to cover for a few hours, entry into the show by way of wristband will be provided and will be valid for the full weekend.
If you are able to support the Essex Shed Network at this event please get in touch.
